Paul Triquet was in the Royal 22E Regiment. On 14 December 1943, at Casa Berardi in Italy, over half his company was lost but Triquet reorganized and led his men forward. With fewer than 15 men, Triquet destroyed German tanks and machine guns and captured and held the town until reinforcments arrived the following day. He was awarded the Victoria Cross.
