Battle of St. Eustache

This was the last battle of the Rebellion in Lower Canada. On 14 December 1837, Sir John Colborne’s troops (1200 regulars) attacked Patriotes in St. Eustache, just outside of Montreal. Amury Girod and Dr. Jean-Olivier Chenier led the Patriotes, but Chenier and 70 of his men were killed. The British took 118 prisoners.
