The Battle of Batoche was from May 9-12, 1885. The Metis were defeated by Canadian authorities. Louis Riel surrendered May 15, Poundmaker on May 26. Big Bear continued fighting until July when he turned himself in to the Mounties

The Battle of Cut Knife was fought on May 2, 1885. First Nations fighters forced the Canadian forces to retreat, with losses on both sides.
