Aubrey Cosens was a Sergeant in the Queen’s Own Rifles when he participated in the capture of farm buildings near Mooshof, Germany on February 25-26, 1945. He had the building’s wall broken by a tank then he personally cleared several rooms of the enemy. While on his way back to report his success, he was killed by a sniper. He was awarded the Victoria Cross.
