The Fenian Encampment, Black Rock, Fort Erie, is from our Family Records. The Studio Portrait is of Edwin Isaac Parnall, (seated with the sword) but unfortunately we do not know the identity of the person next to him, on the floor. The pictures have been donated to the St. Catharines Museum, under the care of Arden Phair, Curator.
EDWIN ISAAC PARNALL, born November 23, 1840. bapt. Feb.16, 1841, by Mr. Treaveal of Mevagissey, Independence Chapel, Cornwall, England. Came to Canada in 1841 with his parents, Isaac & Grace (Bronte) Parnall. from Cornwall in England. Married Sarah Elizabeth Gregg, b.Nov.17, 1845 in the U.S. d. Dec. 19, 1919. Both are buried in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, Ontario. Canada. Edwin Isaac Parnell, was killed by a Trolley Car on the N.S. & T. Main Line on Raymond Street in St. Catharines, Ontario. Canada.on Tuesday, June 18, 1921, at the age of 82. An Auto obsured his view of the Car. He was Secretary of the Niagara District Veteran Volunteer Association for several years.
