Isaac Brock was born in Guernsey and came to Upper Canada in 1802. By 1811 he had been made major-general and provisional administrator of Upper Canada. At the battle of Queenston Heights, Brock was killed by an American sniper. Brock’s Monument marks the battlefield and is a tourist attraction.
